Re: Clutch dramas
Cheers john, jacked up rear wheels and started in gear, found all gears using revs and no clutch, gearbox seems fine. Vehicle was only disassembled for 5 or 6 weeks, so don't think clutch plate has stuck?? When rolling in gear with motor off there is a definite clunk in transmission?? Leads me to th...

Re: Swing arm boots
Cheers john, so I can safely remove axles from diff without anything going 'ping'??? Just tricky lining up stones again!! Given I have the body off I think I will stick to the one piece boots, thanks for advice.

Re: Dynastart not charging
Cheers John and Julian. I have the dynastart out, am aware of the lug in housing for timing thanks. Brushes look like they got heaps of life in them, any ideas on checking field coil or any other check I should be doing to determine why not charging?? Unless voltage regulator the problem??

Dynastart not charging
Having a play with my dynastart that isn't charging. Really don't know where to start, saw on you tube that if you spin up the dynastart from a battery using jumper leads, then swap positive lead of jumper leads to the DF terminal on the dynastart, this should slow the spin of the pulley immediately...

Already repacked with grease and seems pretty good, should have put a grease nipple in as you have done, see how motivated I get, good idea, thanks.

Dodgy cv joint
So after pulling apart front hubs to repair oil seals and reassembling, noticed one of the cvs was not smooth, seemed to be grabbing internally. Pulled hub apart again, took cover off cv and removed seal which was stuffed, and have cleaned out with petrol. Joint is very stiff and grabbing, is it lik...

Re: Front hub oil leaks
Just got new seals from Haflingertechnik, seal for wheel side of cv, 9003820, is a 47/30/10. The seal that was in hub was a 47/30/7, only width of seal different, will this be an issue, was original seal wrong, or an I wrong?? Any advice???

Re: Front hub oil leaks
Thanks for all the advice! Can certainly feel a groove on the shaft. Tried to clean up with emery paper but wasn't confident so went for safe option and ordered new one from dale. Hopefully this way I won't have to do hop twice, although I am getting quicker at it!!
