engine & gearbox now sorted
I have eventually sorted all the gremlins with the gearbox , so apart from the doors ,framework and canvas that need manufacturing everything works, I will send the Haf back to the painters to finish little bits that have been missed and marked during the rebuild .

Re: New Carby - New Tpoic - Zenith Carby
I had my zenith carb cleaned and supposedly set up by professionals twice, both times the said it was set up perfectly . I later found out they had set it up on a 6 cylinder engine ,every time I tried it on the haf it would not run correctly, they had put the bell crank link arm in the inner hole an...

Re: Canvas frame
I had asked several companys around Cairns before I found someone who said he could copy the original about making a replacement canvas bow . they all said the radius of the corners of the bow was too tight for them to bend.

Re: Green plastic sleeve on 4WD lever
Hi Steve, This subject was discussed on the yahoo forum,I think it was you who suggested the heat shrink solution. I tried with my levers but I could only get heat shrink that was too large diameter ,when it was heated it left ripples on the inner radius of the lever ,Can you let us know what size y...

I will be having a full set of door frames made (front/rear) at some stage. Rick K has a set and has offered to loan these when I am ready to have some manufactured.

Re: Canvas frame
Hi Everyone ,I have uploaded a few photos of the main canvas bow frame, as you can see it is in bad condition and needs to be replaced. The figure that was mentioned, $1000AU was just for this part of the frame work and it was only ball park . Julian my Haf is a 68 LWB. Rick it sounds like a plan, p...

Re: Tool for forming brass hinge rods
I had some stainless steel hinges made to the same sizes as original when I replaced my foot well covers ,I supplied the hollow & solid rods, they welded the flat plates to the rods , they made a good job of the hinges but they charged me $200AU for the work. I nearly fell off my perch when they...

Re: Is it possible to join body to chassis with engine fitte
The last time I refitted the body the engine was fitted , I had removed the zenith carb , when I lifted the body for gearbox problems ,the rear air filter connection bracket fitted to the carb snagged the body work and bent the bracket as I lifted it off.

My Australian built Haf had no stone chip protection, but I remember the ones we had in the UK had the protection.pinzmeister wrote:Having had 2 brand new Haflingers many years ago I can tell you the panels were just painted with no stone chip protection underneath.
