During the engine rebuild I also replaced the governor bearings, oil seal and gasket, can anybody advise what type of oil and how much is required ?.

Try Tony Hrleja in Melbourne regarding parts he may have some in stock, when I had carb problems he explained step by step how to set it up, which did cure the problem I was having. If you ask he may do the rebuild for you.

I refitted the engine on to the gearbox yesterday. but the rear of the body still wants lowering on to the rolling chassis. More photos of Tonys other rebuilds,this was approx 30 years ago. The 2 wreckers were purchased from a mine near Weipa (AUS) the rest are of the 2 hafs during rebuild and completion. Hi Julian, the gearbox kept dropping out of 2nd gear when I de clutched, so I decided to strip the gearbox to find the problem. gearbox before and after photos .steam cleaned , professionally bead blasted then a clear coat of lacquer .

rubber seal
I require a new rubber seal( part no.41) that fits on the top of the air deflector plate (no 40) and seals to the blower cowl (no 1)on page 1 25/0 of the parts book as mine is getting worn. has any one got a new one that they wish to sell or advise where I could get one.

Hi John ,
Everything else has been rebuilt, after the engine, I will have the framework (LWB), 4 doors & canvas work manufactured plus 2 rear seat frames,then I think it will be completely finished.

Hi Julian , I was referring to the shims on page 3 10/0 no,s 9a-9p. I did not replace the rubber cones as they seemed in good condition so I re-used them.

Julian , If you do decide to remove the center tube ,when you rebuild it ,I was advised by Tony Herlja ( ex Melbourne production line assembly) that there is no gasket between item 16 & 20 as this will alter the measurements for the spacers, hope this helps.

The photo of the engine bay pipework in the airfilter thread fits directly to the oil bath air filter with a short piece of rubber pipe and two pipe clamps , have you fitted a genuine oil bath air filter? Thanks for all the help /suggestions I will test all the circuits with 8 amp fuses fitted when I finish the engine rebuild ,I am waiting for parts to arrive ,received the tin work from the blasters yesterday ,all ready primed so they are ready for the top coat .
