I picked the side boards up from the guy that has done the pressings on the side boards today, I have taken them back to the sheet metal fabricators to finish everything off ,he has made a very good job with the pressings .He gave me the press parts as he had no further use for them. Its a 68 Lwb with Carello rear Lights, there are blanking covers where you have the trailer socket mounted.

I am about to fit a towing socket on the rear of the Haflinger, can anybody tell me where the socket was usually attached to the body,does it depend on where it is mounted,eg RHD / LHD?

I have dismantled the indicator switch , as far as I can see it is the internals of the outer cover that is broken,where the stalk clips to the body you can see 2 little bits that are at right angles to the stalk these clip into the outer body and as you can see they are broken. I am not having any luck sourcing a replacement indicator switch , I was mistaken saying the indicators did not work , that was me that had made a wrong connection, but the headlamp flasher is faulty. Steve can you offer any advise regarding stripping and repairing of the switch.

I purchased a new battery today, fitted it to the Haflinger ,sucked fuel through to the filter (without getting a mouth full ) turned the key , after a few turns the engine fired up . yes another big step today.
