Parts Suppliers for English Speaking People

I normally use Haflinger Technik for my parts - I have found excellant service, reasonable prices and prompt delivery half way across the world. However my last order has been held up due to them being out of stock on a critical item and their supplier not having stock. This got me thinking that maybe I also need to have a standard alternative supplier so am after recommendations of suppliers that have good service and good prices.

I have a few others bookmarked but unfortunately I am not bi/multi lingual and have found the online translators make the sites difficult to navigate. So are there other "english" language suppliers that I can order parts from on line.

One in Australia would be great but I haven't found any.

Cheers

Garry

Hi Garry,
I've had very good experience ordering from both Robert Prokschi and Autoquariat. Robert's wife, Renate speaks english and responds to my email messages. Also, their on-line catalog is fairly bilingual for Haffy parts at least. If you have a question then just send Renate an email.
The Autoquariat catalog is a bit confusing because they use their own part numbering system but they have an on-line part number search using the Puch numbers that works quite well. I've placed orders with and had questions answered by Dietmar Etzersdorfer. Dietmar's english skills are perfect and he's very knowledgeable with Haffy parts.
I find you need to check all three sellers to locate a stock of some parts or to get the best price. Both price and availability varies frequently among them.
If you have trouble finding a part just let me know, sometimes I can help.
Hope this helps you out.
Cheers,
Steve

Thanks Steve - I have both those sites bookmarked but I cannot seem to be able to use them - they seem overly complicated and further complicated by the poor online translator - maybe I need to find a better translator as I am just using the google one.

Hello Garry

Ive had excellent experiences with both Autoquariat and Prockschi. They will respond in perfect English. I too get confused with the catalogues so I just email them what I need (with SDP part numbers) and they will advise whether they can supply or not. Its quite painless, particularly as I can pay via Paypal. So between Haflinger Technik, Autoquariat and Prockschi, I can get most things I need.

Cheers

Rick

Robert and his wife separated and he is now in a extended vacation. His wife was the one that ran the buianess.
When ordering from him it might be best to go through LEONARDO CASTIGLIONE his North American partner.

I have just received some parts from Robert Prokschi - Dale was out of stock. His english isn't great, but my german is non-existent. That said, he has been very helpful on several occassions, and I wouldn't let the language barrier get in the way.

What I try to do is send an email in english, with each para duplicated with a google translate version in german too. That way at least I show I'm trying to be helpful  :)

Thanks for all the comments - every one seems to be happy with the same suppliers so I will use them - I will not worry about their websites and will just send emails using the SDP part numbers when ordering.

Cheers

Hi Garry, and other Oz Haf Heads!
Just following an old thread here re Aussie parts suppliers.
Was doing a "dream" Google search (you know the one where you know you can't afford what it is you're looking for, but search anyway. This time it for wheels), and came up with this company in Melbourne, Vic, Australia.
Kinda spun me out really!
Not sure if anybody else has found these guys or has posted info here.

http://www.italianjobauto.com/haflinger-parts.php

Just called them, and they have about 4 Hafs for spares on their premises, and some on the "farm", as the person I spoke to put it.
They don't order "new" parts, so maybe just second hand/wrecked items.
Am heading to Melbourne later in the week, and will drop in and suss it out.
Will post an update once I get back.

Cheers,
And Happy Haffing!!
Richard.

They were my first contact when I first got my Haffie - rather than carry parts they seem to be selling parts off the ones they have. They were very cheerful and happy to "have a chat" which I like - they actually had what I wanted but was expensive to ship so was waiting until I went down to Melbourne to drop in and visit them.

Hi Richard,

I bought a set of Alpha rims for my haf from these guys a couple of months ago and I found them to be very helpful and easy to get on with. Lots of knowledge and plenty of stories if they have the time to talk. I will definitely talk to these guys again in the future..

Hi Garry and Doug,
Thanks for the feedback gents.
Good to know these guys are helpful and spend the time to share their passion.
Hopefully they have some bits that are needed to keep a Haffie happy! :D

Have a great weekend.
Richard.

How do you contact Tony Hrleja? Does he have a business name?

Is not a business as such - he holds the left over parts from the Haflinger factory in Melbourne in his backyard garage and sells by word of mouth - no emails or websites.

I will send you his contact details via PM.

Just as an update to this thread. Tony Hrleja has passed all his spare-parts on to Bernard Callahan in Colac. I think Bernard's father Jim was a Haflinger dealer years ago.

Bernard's phone number is 0419 871591.

I received my under-body spare-wheel carrier and split axle boot from Bernard last week.

Keep on Haffing
