Hi all,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
We've just purchased a complete Haflinger and one chassis for parts, with a rebuilt engine and a Ute-load of spare parts.
We already had one chassis courtesy of John.
Was a huge day, but so worth it.
The chassis was up on top of shelving right at the back of a 40’ high-cube shipping container that was full of tools and other gear.
How to get it out?
Four bolts released the engine - I carried it out on my shoulder. We took the wheels and brake drums off.
We then secured the chassis to the tie-downs on the tip of the container and then used a chain block to rotate and drop the chassis down between the shelving. Put a 4m long fence post through the suspension and carried it out hog-tied style on our shoulders. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Thank you to the prior owner Peter for a good deal and helping us load out.
Thank you also to John Wood for the tips and tricks, along with the instant part recognition as I pulled bits n pieces out of a 44-Gallon drum.
One day soon we’ll be joining you on a Haflinger Owner’s run.
Very excited to get started on this project and add it to the Globe Roamer https://www.instagram.com/globe__roamer/ collection.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.
You are obviously in Australia so why not go into your profile and tell us where you are - town, state and country would be good so every one knows where you come from
Also who are you - we are a friendly bunch so like to refer to each other by name
That is a nice find, and it looks as if you have a good lot of bits to go with your vehicle.
So welcome and keep us informed on your progress or even just to havachat about Haflingers
Garry
